>> once again thousands of firefighters on hand on the south side of chicago to honor the life of a captain herby johnson. firefighters from across the midwest as well as parts of of the areas. the governor came by to honor the life of the captain. a cabinet shake-up may be brewing for president obama's second term. hillary clinton and tim geithner have both publicly announced their exits. but "politico" reports leon panetta, eric holder ray lahood, and several others are all expected to leave thier posts. rumors are swirling over who will be named as replacements. the "new york times" reports president obama wants at least one republican in his cabinet. possibly retiring senator olympia snowe though it's unclear for what post. president obama made a quiet return to the white house last night. after his re-election

celebrations in chicago. the obama campaign is still waiting to hear who won florida's 29-electoral votes. even though the outcome won't affect the election. with more than 8-million votes counted. the president holds a 46-thousand vote lead in florida. the official results are due by saturday. mitt romney wrapped up his long white house candidacy by visiting his campaign headquarters in boston yesterday. he thanked staffers and said he knows they gave it their best shot. campaign members say romney and his wife ann were very gracious in defeat, and there was no sense of finger-pointing over the loss. a longtime friend said romney felt badly that his message about turning america around and solving the nations economic issues hadnt resonated with a broader audience. with the election behind him president is now focusing on brokering a deficit-reduction deal to avert a looming fiscal crisis. lawmakers from both parties have promised to work together to find a compromise before the end of the year. however. they still sharply disagree over the key issue of

the month of december and november combined. >> governor chris christie says more than 390,000 customers in the state are still without power. that is up 19,000 from wednesday. more than 218,000 homes in new york still do not have electricity. officials spent a third straight day searching for the body of stacy peterson. according to the shorewood patch newspaper, a search dog led a half dozen investigators through hammel woods again yesterday. officials won't comment much on the search. they will say, it is not based on a specific tip on the whereabouts of drew peterson's missing fourth wife. the guardian angels are patrolling in the lawndale neighborhood, where a 14-year- old girl was gang raped earlier this week. members of the guardian angels escorted kids to school this morning in the area around 16th and trumbull, where the attack happened. the victim was walking to school monday morning when she was forced into a car by six men who took her to a house and sexually assaulted her. the guardian angels are handing

out flyers in the neighborhood and posting information about the attack. they're also urging parents to walk their children to school. they'll ask a judge today to order a psychiatric tests for the woman charged with murdering her son and a young girl. she's accused of stabbing a seven year-old and a five rules on october 30th. prosecutors say she confessed to the murders. she said she killed her son because she was angry at her husband. she murdered the girl because she was a witness. the prosecution's request appears to be a signal that they believe her defense team will argue she is insane. a father who posted a facebook photo of his 22-month-old daughter bound and gagged with tape was found guilty today of charges of aggravated domestic battery and aggravated battery. the caption read, this is what happens when my baby hits me

back. today a judge found him guilty of two counts of battery. he remains free on bond. >> testimony from victims is currently under way. he pleaded guilty to 19 counts including the attempted assassination of a member of congress in exchange for avoiding the death penalty. the judge ruled that he was competent enough to be sentenced. he opened fire and a public event in tucson arizona last january. six people were killed and 12 others were wounded. the man behind the anti-islam film that incited violence across the middle east, has been sentenced to one year in prison. in september, mark basseley youssef released the film "innocence of muslims" showing

in medical watch. drinking black tea may help protect against type two diabetes. researchers analyzed data from 50 nations and found the rate of diabetes was lowest in countries where people drank the most black tea. diabetes was the only health condition impacted by black tea drinking. the study does not prove a cause and effect relationship and the authors say more research is needed to confirm the association. people in ireland, the u-k, and turkey drink the most black tea. black tea drinking is lowest in south korea, brazil and china. losing weight could lead to better sleep for obese or overweight people. researchers followed a group of overweight and obese people who enrolled in a weight loss program for six months. all the study participants answered questions to pinpoint sleep problems. including sleep apnea, restless sleep, excessive sleep or sleepiness, daytime fatigue, insomnia, and the use of sleep medications. the researchers report improvement in sleep quality was associated with weight loss and specifically with loss in belly fat. exercise can help you live longer, even if you're overweight. researchers analyzed data from
